Who Are We

Jocelyn Guthrie is a wellness consultant and owner of JBS and Wellness Consulting LLC. A certified fitness and personal trainer, she takes a holistic approach to fitness, health and wellness. Her passion for exercise and wellness led her to offer free classes to several Community based Organizations (CBO). She later became the “face of fitness” as she provided group exercise and strength and conditioning classes as well as instituted the National Diabetes Prevention Program at the William Emslie YMCA. Thereafter, Jocelyn was employed with Greater Buffalo United Accountability Healthcare Network (GBUAHN) as a patient health navigator and Rapha Family Wellness Center as a Site Director; Jocelyn decided to begin her business November 2015, JBS and Wellness Consulting LLC.

Jocelyn begun her business November 2015, JBS and Wellness Consulting LLC; Graduating from Allstate Minority and Women Emerging Entrepreneurs Program June 1, 2016. JBS and Wellness Consulting was nominated as the Third Place Protégé of the Year. JBS and Wellness Consulting offers various services; In-home/Group Personal Training, Wellness and Nutritional coaching, Wellness services to Community Based Organization (CBO) and Employee/ Patient Wellness. Our goal is to educate and bring awareness to individuals, families, employees and the community the importance of balancing everyday life responsibilities while incorporating a healthy lifestyle. JBS and Wellness Consulting focuses on isometric and plyometric exercise, flexibility, core strengthening, muscle training, nutritional coaching, care- coordination and exercise regimen planning. Service are uniquely designed to holistically transform the overall well-being of our clients and community.

Jocelyn received her Bachelor of Science degree Business, Management and Economics and a Master degree Public Administration-Healthcare Administration, as well a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Fitness Aerobic Association (AFAA). As a Master Trainer and lifestyle coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program, she is also a certified group exercise and strength and conditioning instructor and level 1 patient navigator train-the-trainer and level 1 patient care coordinator. Recent awards, honors and members include employee of year from the YMCA of Greater Buffalo/Niagara and certification of recognition for Rachel’s Experience Spiritual Leader by Mayor Byron Brown (2014), Women in Health award from WUFO 1080am (2015), 3rd Place protégé University of Buffalo School of Management Center for Entrepreneurs Leadership (2016), Outstanding Research Award “Treating Adverse Childhood Experiences – Implementing Trauma Informed Care within a Primary Care Setting (2021) and Honoree, Class of 2021 Hilbert College Commencement Speaker. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. 2018-2021 chairman of Women’s Healthcare and Wellness and Buffalo Swim Racers committee member

Jocelyn enjoys running and is a regular participant in the Chase Corporate Challenge and the annual Juneteenth Celebration race where she has placed in overall and age bracket categories several times. Jocelyn is dedicated to her family and clients’ journey towards a healthier lifestyle; spiritually, mentally and physically.
